Onta ware dish
The red clay plate decorated with slip and glaze has the attractiveness of its simplicity, warmth and its powerful appearance. Onta ware became known nationwide when Sōetsu Yanagi (father of Siri Yanagi) and Bernard Leach, who visited the area, praised this pottery that embodies the "beauty of use".
A mamezara dish with a pattern unique to Onta ware. "Flying scraping" that applies a tool to scrape the surface according to the rotation of the potter's wheel and "Comb eye" that draws a clear pattern using a comb-shaped tool, respectively. All made by skilled artisans.
