Shigaraki ware is counted as one of the six ancient kilns of Japan and is said to be "the art of earth and fire." It is said that the roof tiles were made in shigaraki when Emperor Shomu built Shigaraki Palace during the Tenpyo period.


In the Kamakura period, water jars, mortars, and jars were made in Shigaraki ware, and in the Muromachi and Azuchi-Momoyama periods, many tea utensils were made.

In the Edo period, the production of various household goods such as teapots became popular, and today, a wide range of products that are used in daily life, such as tableware, flower vases, flowerpots, and exterior tiles. The more you use it, the more you become attached to it.

A simple bean plate that has the rustic taste of Shigaraki ware. A plate made from clay that has been shaped into a plate by Tatara molding and finished with three types of glaze.

* Avoid soaking and washing after washing, wipe with a soft dry cloth, dry well and store in a well-ventilated place.
