Yakushigama Maneki Neko
Yakushigama is a product brand of Chugai Toen, a ceramic workshop based in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture—a town with over 1,000 years of pottery history. It was named Yakushigama because a shrine dedicated to Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha) stood at its founding site.
Generally, a beckoning cat’s right paw is said to invite money, its left paw invites many people, and both paws invite both. However, regardless of the right or left hand, all Yakushigama beckoning cats are widely popular for inviting health and longevity through the divine protection of Yakushi Nyorai.
Furthermore, all Yakushigama beckoning cat products are supervised by the Maneki Neko Museum and individually handcrafted with heart by skilled artisans.
