Our name brings together ZAKKA - the Japanese word for everyday goods and - and magazine: a collection of stories, ideas and discoveries.

That is still the best way to describe the shop. ZAKKAsine is a place where things we come across, remember and want to share slowly find their way onto the shelves.

Japan has always been at the heart of how we source. We love going there ourselves — looking through small shops and markets, visiting exhibitions, meeting makers, and simply seeing what we find. Some things catch our attention straight away; others stay with us for years before appearing in the shop. Many of these journeys have also led to relationships with makers and suppliers that we continue to work with today.

Founded by Sine, ZAKKAsine brings this Japanese point of view into a Scandinavian setting. Our shop in the heart of Malmö is a place to see things in person, pick them up, feel the materials, and take your time looking around.
