Heüge MUG CUP | Shino
A uniquely shaped mug with a waist. While it has a dull and stable feeling like sushi and sanju. The handles that are made by hand are made slightly thicker than ordinary ones so that they can be gripped tightly.
Shino
It is the first white pottery in Japan, and its thick white skin has fine penetrations, pinholes, glazes, and uneven coating. It can be said that Shino has a rugged, adorable appearance and the warmth that is transmitted from the hands.
In order to make Shino that can be widely used on modern dining tables, we have reduced the penetrations and unevenness of the surface as much as possible to leave a soft and soft taste.
Please experience the warmth of Shino with your hands.

About the Nature of the Product
- Due to the characteristics of the material and the manufacturing process, variations in color and subtle differences in the glaze may be visible on the surface.
- As each piece is entirely handmade, slight differences in size, thickness, and overall look will occur. We hope you will enjoy these unique qualities as part of the charm of handcrafted items.
After Purchase
Please perform medome (boiling the item in rice-washing water before first use). Pottery is porous and can easily absorb stains, which may lead to mold or discoloration.
The starch in the rice water fills the tiny surface pores, helping to prevent stains from seeping in.
When Using
To help prevent stains, soak the item in clean water before use so it absorbs some moisture. Even a short 5–10 minute soak can reduce the chance of staining.
After Use
Wash promptly with detergent, wipe with a dry cloth, and allow the piece to dry thoroughly before storing. Storing while damp can cause mold or unpleasant odors.
If Stains or Odors Appear
Even with careful use, some food stains or tea marks may develop over time. If this happens, soaking the item in a solution of 1 liter of water with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of vinegar can help reduce them.
Please also consider stains as part of the vessel’s natural aging, adding character and beauty with use.
