Kutsushita-jin (Sock People) orange | KONTEX

€25,95

Strange, a little awkward and somehow hard to ignore.

“Kutsushitajin” are born from socks that could not become socks.
Instead of being discarded, these “imperfect” pieces are given a second life, carefully transformed into small, hand-made characters.

Each piece is one of a kind. Some stand straight, some lean a little. Some look calm, others slightly confused. Small marks, wrinkles, and irregular shapes are all left as they are part of each one’s personality.

Inside, they are filled with leftover cotton from towel production.
In total, each piece is made from around 99% recycled materials.

They are handmade in small workshops in Ehime, Japan, at a gentle pace, without strict production pressure, each one taking shape a little differently.

You can choose the one that feels right to you.

Soft to hold, a little unusual, and quietly expressive,
the kind of object that slowly becomes “yours”.
