Daruma Tower with Hinoki Masu Base | Japanese Vintage

€48,95

This vintage piece shows a tower of small Daruma dolls, stacked on a traditional masu sake cup made of Japanese cypress (hinoki). Each Daruma is hand-painted, giving the set a lively and warm character.

The wooden base is printed with 「千光寺」 (Senkō-ji Temple), a historic Buddhist temple in Onomichi, Hiroshima. Famous for its panoramic view over the Seto Inland Sea, Senkō-ji is a place where visitors pray for good fortune and safe journeys. The masu itself, once used as a rice measure and later as a sake cup, also carries the meaning of abundance and prosperity.

Together with the Daruma — symbols of perseverance and luck — this piece becomes more than decoration: it’s also a temple souvenir that carries blessings for resilience and good fortune.

Perfect for display on a shelf, desk, or alcove, it adds both playfulness and cultural depth to the home.
