The Creator’s Diary was originally developed from a schedule book that designers at DRAFT were actually using in their work. D-BROS turned the idea into a product in 2004, and it has remained part of the collection ever since.
What makes it different is its accordion-fold construction. Rather than dividing the year into separate months, the entire year is connected as one continuous sheet. Open it out and you can see time across a much longer span — useful for planning projects, working towards deadlines, or starting with a goal and planning backwards to see what needs to happen along the way.
Fold it back and it becomes a compact diary again. The unusual accordion binding is made using Japanese bookbinding techniques, turning a practical planning idea into a cleverly constructed object.
