Made in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, using Kanchiku, a slender variety of bamboo with naturally purplish stems.

Lightweight yet sturdy, the basket has a smooth, dry texture and a shallow, open shape. One of its most interesting details is how the bamboo changes colour over time, gradually shifting from purple tones towards green and yellow as it ages.

A useful size for keeping fruit, snacks or small everyday objects, whether in the kitchen or elsewhere around the home.
